Our Selection Process
The SmithLife Homecare process for inviting new caregivers to join our family is thorough and demanding. Not only are we verifying professional and regulatory qualifications, we are ensuring that all of our nurses and caregivers embrace our culture. This means that your caregivers are not just highly skilled, they are compassionate individuals who are focused on all of your needs.
Care Coordinators

In-Service Education
Our caregivers actively seek opportunities to continue to expand their skills and provide the quality care that you expect. We’re proud to offer these professional development opportunities through in-service education on a number of topics that include:
- Effective communication with patients with hearing loss
- Caring for someone on bedrest
- Recognizing elder abuse and neglect
- Developing cultural competence with SAGE
- Alzheimer’s education and certification
- Caring for patients with diabetes
- Training in important issues such as fall prevention, infection control and fire safety
- All of our team members receive training from CARES®, a dementia care training program with certifications from the Alzheimer’s Association®.
- All of our leadership team are certified dementia practitioners.
- Our Director of Nursing provides training to all new staff.
